Here’s a thought about the three latest themes.

It’s the latest weekly message from Church leaders to you!

In 2022, our youth theme was from the Old Testament: “Trust in the Lord” (Proverbs 3:5). Then, in 2023, our theme came from the New Testament: “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me” (Philippians 4:13).

Our new youth theme in 2024 is from the Book of Mormon: “I am a disciple of Jesus Christ” (3 Nephi 5:13). Do you notice how the themes go together?

First, we learn to trust in the Lord, and that faith and trust lead us to action. Then we realize it is not just about doing things but becoming like Christ. That is the journey of discipleship.

Do you see the doctrine of Christ in the progression of the themes? Trust in the Lord is faith. Doing all things through Christ includes repenting and making and keeping covenants. Then, Christ calls us to endure to the end—to be His disciples forever. As we endure to the end, He mentors, teaches, and guides us. It is in that journey of discipleship that He transforms us and helps us to be like Him.
